In my daughter's eyes.....

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

(Martina McBride)

This is the cover of the lovely (THICK!) blank book that my daughter gave me for mother's day. Inside she wrote "To the woman who taught me how to be a butterfly"

She also brought me one of her now famous compilation CDs, full of wonderful, uplifting thoughts, including the song I have quoted part of here.

Every year at Mother's Day she reminds me again of the very special relationship we have. I rejoice that we are now closer than we have ever been, alternately bouying each other up when one of us is having a down day. It also makes me a little sad that my own mother and I have not had this kind of relationship.

But for today, I am feeling blessed.

Thank you daughter! I hope you have a child just like you!!

You can't be a caterpillar if your daughter's a butterfly. She's following your lead.

You may not have had it with Gma, but you have had it with Amma. Don't forget that and what a difference she's made in all of our lives.

Darn you woman, you made me cry!

Love you!

Thank you Marty...sometimes that's hard to remember.

Dorothy, just returning the favor of tears! I know how blessed we are to have Amma!

What a touching post, Bev! I'm proud of my children, too and glory in that they've turned out so well!

I'm laughing a little here because a friend here calls your last statement a mother's curse.

I personally am glad I'm not like my mother but that's just me. If I see myself becoming her, I'll drink hemlock first.

Thanks Kay. Yes that last statement can be a mother's curse...when discussing my step daughter it might be...and she got one, which makes me smile!

I've from time to time told my daughter that if I ever start acting like my mother, she's to beat me soundly around the head and ears!
